Delight Sense Know ... Truth
Aristotle once speculated on the view, ‘All men [sic] by nature desire to know’ (Aristotle & Jones B R 2012, p. 1). He theorised an indication of this, was the delight we take in our senses.
For even apart from their usefulness they are loved for themselves; and above all others the sense of sight. For not only with a view to action, but even when we are not going to do anything, we prefer sight to almost everything else. The reason is that this, most of all the senses, makes us know and brings to light many differences between things
(Aristotle & Jones B R 2012, p. 1).
After eighty years a seat on the Guild has been vacated. The vacated seat is a once in a lifetime opportunity to position someone, a Masquerader of our choosing, into the great halls now known as The Gothic Guild first formed in 12 BCE.
Masqueraders will undergo a rigorous interview process to evaluate their preparedness for the position. Knowledge is the key to unlocking the door to the Guild and the chosen masquerader will answer questions on life, death, and the afterlife amongst other theological, philosophical and theoretical thoughts and ideas.
Most of all the masquerader is required to frighten, enthral, delight and madden the grandmasters of the Guild. The intermediary between the grandmaster's and the masquerader will be Gothicess.
The selection process has begun, and the audience will be updated as the entries arrive.
